Wow, that is just stunning.

Just noticed the Fret Marker switchup at the ? 12th fret; just another detail that puts this one over the top!   Grin

 Oh My God

The guitar looks amazing!  The wood is incredible and so is the finish!  If that guitar were mine, it would have an Ebony neck purely because I love how the dark wood contrasts inlay work but that is solely for esthetic purposes not for sound.  This is one incredible guitar and truly a one-of-a-kind...love to hear how it plays and sounds.....

Ohhhhh what a lucky man you are! Smiley

hey thanks Johnny.  I actually went with snakewood on the board for aesthetics too.  These last photos really are bright so alot of the figure was burned out.  The tone and response of ebony is what I wanted, but seeing as the guitar was all exotic tonewoods, I chose snakewood because of the figure and the fact that it has very similar characteristics (tone, resonance, pop) to ebony.  I think you'll get a better idea of how it works aesthetically when I post the additional photos, probably Friday or Saturday this week.  The Dave's did an INCREDIBLE job on this guitar.  For me, now it's just a matter of waiting to see if the sum of the parts I chose for this build are what I hope from a playing and tone standpoint.... I have no doubt it will be an amazing instrument to play...Dave sent me a REAL positive note after his 3 hr test drive so that's a good sign!

after talking with the techs at DiMarzio about woods, electronics, etc, went with a custom built LiqiFire-7 Neck and Blaze-7 Bridge (with gold screws).  I spoke with Dave Mansel this afternoon and one of his comments was a very positive one in anticipation .... "THIS GUITAR IS ALIVE!"

I didn't know which photos Dave had taken of the guitar, but I also took some before I packed it up so I thought I'd share them with you guys.

Dave, thank you for posting the additional photos... they look GREAT!  I see now what you were talking about with the flame and curl on the horns... thanks for the feedback on the guitar's tone and sound quality after your test drive... the guitar having a huge, warm tone and sounding awesome with your Jazz clean as well as with Dave's Metal gain is what I was looking for, so that was good news indeed...  Thanks again for the extra post!

Hey thanks Doug.  I'm VERY glad I did this build with McNaught.  The photos speak volumes on the attention to detail the Daves put into this guitar, as they do with every guitar they build, but the communication and their "patience" with all my questions and requests was above and beyond. Thanks again for the comment!
